Con i suoi 800 mila abitanti, Valencia è una città di dimensioni perfette, che offre tutti i tipi di servizi e di intrattenimento raggiungibili in brevissimo tempo. In centro si può camminare ovunque senza problemi. La città dispone di un servizio di trasporto pubblico molto vario e interessante: metropolitana, autobus, taxi e il servizio condiviso di biciclette e scooter permettono di raggiungere ogni angolo della città rapidamente e ad un prezzo molto buono. Muoversi in bicicletta è molto comodo e veloce. Se preferite spostarvi in autobus o in metropolitana, vi consigliamo di procurarvi un qualche tipo di voucher per renderlo più economico.

Come si arriva dall'aeroporto al centro di Valencia?

Un modo molto comodo è quello di prendere la metropolitana. Dall'aeroporto al centro ci vogliono solo 20 minuti circa, è economico e vi lascia nel centro di Valencia, a 2 minuti a piedi dalla nostra fantastica scuola di Taronja. Potete anche prendere un taxi, che in circa 20 minuti vi lascia alla porta di casa (Taronja ha anche un proprio servizio di pick-up).

La maggior parte delle attività che programmiamo ora sono all'aperto. Per fortuna, questo è possibile a Valencia tutto l'anno!

Taronja è nel cuore di Valencia, in pieno centro città. Attrazioni turistiche, ristoranti, negozi, banche, farmacie e molto altro ancora sono proprio intorno alla scuola. La spiaggia dista circa 5 km dal centro, ma ci si può arrivare molto velocemente grazie ai vari tipi di trasporto pubblico (in bicicletta per esempio ci vogliono 20 minuti).

The minimum age to take an individual course in Taronja is 18 years old. Unlike most Spanish schools, which accept minors, at Taronja we do not like to put adults and teenagers together. This is a policy we have been using for over 12 years and it works perfectly!

Yes, Taronja School has a virtual classroom called Schoology where you can find information about timetables, cultural activities and, of course, exercises, materials and extra teaching resources to study and practice Spanish after class. You can easily access Schoology from your computer, mobile, iPad, tablet... On the first day of class your teacher will help you create your account and give you access codes.

No! In this respect Taronja is different too. Every week you have 2 different teachers (sometimes even 3). We do this on purpose because each teacher has a different style, a different accent and this method is very good and enriching for your learning. Obviously, all the teachers follow the same weekly program for each group, adapt the materials and are coordinated among themselves.

What are the course schedules? Are they in the morning, in the afternoon?

Taronja School has an exclusive ZIG-ZAG timetable system, which means that some groups have classes on Monday/Wednesday/Friday mornings and Tuesday/Thursday afternoons, while the rest of the groups have the opposite.   Please note that for us this Zigzag system is very complicated to organize and that it would be much easier to do two shifts: one in the morning and one in the afternoon. But, after many years of testing, we have realized that this system is the best since all students can enjoy 2 free mornings and 3 free afternoons every week, and vice versa. This way, everyone is happy and the course is more comfortable. Very few schools do this!

If I don't like the level I'm in, can I change groups?

Of course you can! The most important thing in Taronja is that you are happy. If you are not happy in the group we have put you in, you can talk to the Head Teachers. They will advise you correctly and change your level if that's what you need.

How does Taronja know what my level of Spanish is?

In order to know your level of Spanish and to be able to put you in the right group you will have to do a small level test before starting your course. At most Spanish language schools this test is done on your first day of your course. However, at Taronja we don't want you to miss a minute of your lessons, so we will give you instructions on how to do the level test from your home, before you arrive to Valencia.

What will my first day of school be like?

When you arrive, come to the reception to say hello and we will take you to the welcome meeting for new students. You don't need to take a level test, because you will have done this before. After your first day of class, if you have any problems with your accommodation, your classes, etc., don't hesitate to come to the reception to ask. Any member of Taronja will attend you and we will solve your problems in the fastest and most efficient way, don't worry. Soprattutto se si proviene da un paese che non fa parte dell'Unione Europea, si consiglia di prendere una carta SIM spagnola in uno dei tanti negozi di telefonia che si trovano vicino a Taronja. Fare ciò è facile, economico e garantisce sempre l'accesso a internet e molti minuti di chiamata.

Quali sono gli orari dei negozi, delle banche, dei supermercati e dell'ufficio postale?

I negozi e i supermercati più grandi sono aperti dal lunedì al sabato dalle 9:00 alle 20:00 e alcuni sono aperti anche la domenica. I negozi più piccoli sono aperti dal lunedì al venerdì e di solito fanno una pausa per la siesta dalle 14:00h alle 17:00 ore (alcuni sono aperti anche il sabato e la domenica). Le banche sono aperte dal lunedì al venerdì dalle 8:00 alle 14:00, ma ci sono molti bancomat 24 ore su 24, 7 giorni su 7. L'ufficio postale è aperto dal lunedì al venerdì dalle 8:30 alle 20:30 e il sabato dalle 9:30 alle 13:00.

Si può bere alcolici per strada (fare un botellón)?

Anche se è una pratica illegale, molti giovani spagnoli si riuniscono in zone dove i vicini non sono troppo disturbati vicino alle discoteche. È importante non urlare troppo e raccogliere tutta la spazzatura prima di andare.

Non è normale fare feste a casa. Si può cenare con gli amici fino alle 23 e poi uscire nei pub e nelle discoteche. Se si organizza una festa rumorosa in ritardo, è probabile che i vicini chiamino la polizia. A noi spagnoli piace uscire e spostarci da un posto all'altro per incontrare molte persone e scoprire nuovi posti.

A Valencia la vita notturna è molto divertente e offre molte opzioni. Una classica serata fuori inizia con qualche drink in una delle tante terrazze della strada. Alle 00:30 ore la gente di solito va nei pub (che in Spagna sono come piccole discoteche) e dalle 02:00 ore di solito va nelle discoteche più grandi. A Valencia c'è una festa per ogni gusto.
