How to ask?
We use:
👉 ¿De qué color es + singular thing?
👉 ¿De qué color son + plural things?
Examples:
¿De qué color es la camiseta? = What colour is the t-shirt?
¿De qué color son los vestidos? = What colour are the dresses?
How to answer?
We say:
✔️ [Thing] es [colour] – for one thing
✔️ [Things] son [colour] – for more than one
- La camiseta es roja. (The t-shirt is red)
- Los vestidos son grises. (The dresses are grey)
What changes and what doesn’t?
Some colours change depending on gender and number:
| Base Colour | Feminine | Plural | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
| rojo | roja | rojos | La camiseta es roja |
| blanco | blanca | blancos | Los zapatos son blancos |
Some colours never change (easy!):
azul, rosa, verde, naranja
